Petroleum coke carbon increasing agent is made from petroleum coke calcined and purified, and its appearance is round or multi prism. It is characterized by high carbon, low sulfur and low ash. It is an ideal carbon-adding material and reaction intermediate in metallurgical, chemical, mechanical and electric industries, and has been widely used. As a good carbon additive and intermediate reactor, it is used in metallurgy, chemistry, machinery, electric power and other industries. It can be applied to the steel industry.

High quality petroleum coke carburizer is an indispensable auxiliary additive for producing high quality steel. There are many kinds of raw materials for carburizer, and the production process is also different. The types of carburizers are calcined coal carburizer, metallurgical coke carburizer, petroleum coke carburizer, graphitization carburizer. Different types of carburizing agents are needed for different products produced by iron and steel plants and foundries. Petroleum coke carbon increasing agent is made by crushing, sieving and packing coke with low sulfur calcining. It has the characteristics of high carbon content, low ash content and high absorption rate.

When petroleum coke carburizer is used in casting, the amount of scrap steel can be greatly increased, the amount of pig iron can be reduced or pig iron can not be used. At present, most of the Carburants are suitable for electric furnace smelting, and a small number of Carburants with very fast absorption speed are used for cupola. The feeding mode of electric furnace smelting should be that the carburizer should be put in with the scrap and other burden, and small doses of carburizer can be added to the surface of molten iron. However, large quantities of molten iron should be avoided to prevent excessive oxidation and carburization effect is not obvious and the carbon content of the casting is not enough. The carburizing agent is suitable for smelting in induction furnace, but the specific use is different according to the technological requirements.

(1) The carburizer can be added to the lower and middle parts of the furnace according to the proportion or carbon equivalent requirement, and the recovery rate can reach more than 95%.

Carbon can be dissolved and absorbed by heating up the molten iron, electromagnetic stirring or artificial stirring. The recovery rate can be about 90%. If the low temperature carburizing process is adopted, that is, the burden is only melted part, and the molten iron temperature is low, all the carburizer is used. The liquid is added into the liquid at a time and pressed into the molten iron with a solid charge so that it does not expose the surface of the molten iron. This method can increase carbon content by more than 1%. First of all, graphite fossil oil coke is the best carbon carburizing agent for smelting. In the steel-making industry, to produce good steel, must have good raw materials, including good carburizer, and graphitized petroleum coke is the best carburizer. In the absence of graphitized petroleum coke, graphitized petroleum coke emerged, breaking the bottleneck, because the edge material of graphite electrode was less and the price was higher, which not only increased the cost of steelmaking, but also restricted the development of steel industry. With the rapid development of China's steel industry, the output of steel has become the first in the world. In 2011, China's steel output was 683 million tons, and in 2012, 713 million tons. In the past, low-end non-graphitized carburant was generally used in domestic smelting industry. With the improvement of product quality and the need of upgrading, more and more graphitized Coke will be used in China. Conservative calculation of smelting steel according to 0.05% graphitization coke, the annual dosage is 350 thousand tons.

In recent years, the demand for energy saving and emission reduction is becoming higher and higher. Industrial furnaces and kilns are developing towards large-scale, super-large-scale and scientific and technological type. Therefore, the performance requirements of large cathode blocks, large carbon electrodes, graphitized electrodes and electrode pastes for industrial furnaces are getting higher and higher. In order to manufacture large cathode blocks, large carbon electrodes, graphitized electrodes and electrode pastes, more graphite crushes with good performance (by-products of graphite electrode processing) should be added. Graphite fossil oil coke can partly replace graphite crushing, and the market demand increases year by year. The cumulative output of graphite and carbon products in China from January to December 2012 was 28.668 million tons (of which, if graphite petroleum coke was added 10% on average to produce graphite and carbon products, it would be 2.86million tons per year). In 2012, the output of graphite electrode which can produce graphite crushing was 648,000 tons, and 45.36 million tons of graphite crushing produced 7%. Graphite is small in quantity, high in cost and high in price. Therefore, graphite fossil oil coke has good business prospects.
